The tour had made it to its next location, New Jersey. Dylan had never been here, his traveling history was very limited. That was another thing he was excited about whilst on this tour, the traveling, all of the places he was going to be able to see and experience. He had made it his mission to make sure he checked out each city they landed in. Today wasn’t a concert date, it was a chill day for everyone on tour. Dylan chose today as the day he explored the city, he didn’t want to do it alone though. He had gone to the mall with Casey, he chose her because he knew she’d have ea good time, plus she was bugging to tag along. He knew she only wanted someone to go with her to the mall so she could go shopping, he didn’t mind though. He was there from about twelve to one thirty, the two had a good time. Casey wanted to head back though, what a shocker, she couldn’t remain sober for too long. He told her he was going to stick around a bit, so they parted ways on the streets of New Jersey. Normally, he’d walk her back to the bus, but Casey didn’t think that made any sense right now since he would have to walk right back. Casey was a good friend to him; she was the merch girl for the band he worked for. The only problem with her was that she was constantly on something or drunk out of her mind, he loved her sober though, she was very entertaining.
He sighed as he looked around the semi-busy streets, he didn’t know where to begin. There was pretty good scenery, which made him think of Delilah. She was a photographer, she would love this actually. Why didn’t he think of inviting her in the first place? Oh right, Casey practically bombarded him with taking her along. He stopped in his tracks and leaned against the nearest wall, getting his cell phone out of his pocket. He set up a text message saying ‘Hey busy today? Come meet me in town. At the starbuck’s? it’s not too far from the venue, you won’t get lost(: n bring your camera.’, he sent it happily. He put his cell back into his pocket, hoping she’d meet him. He was about 94% sure she’d come, the two had hung out a lot together during the tour. They had met almost right when the tour began, instantly clicking just right. They were just so similar and he liked that she wasn’t much of a partier, mostly cause he himself was straight-edge. He didn’t mind if people drank, but it was nice to see there was people like him around on tour.
He looked up, he wasn’t in the Starbuck’s yet but it was right across the street. He told her that mostly because it would be easier to spot, rather than… telling her he was standing in front of some building he didn’t know the name of. He made his way across the street, spotting someone drop some money while they walked. He rushed over to the green cash rolled up together and called out to the woman, ”Excuse me miss!”
, he ran after her. She turned around and he handed her the money, ”You dropped this”, he said with a pleasant smile. She smiled gratefully and thanked him, there had to be about fifty dollars in the little roll. Sure, he could have easily just taken it for himself, but no, Dylan wasn’t like that. He was an overall nice guy and always put others before him. He parted ways with the lady, waving to her letting her know it was no problem. He turned around and went back in the direction of the Starbucks. He walked inside and made his way to the cashier, Delilah would be a few more minutes’ right. He ordered both of their favorite drinks from the place and waited patiently to the side for the drinks to come. delilah was in heaven, or at least she felt as if her dream of traveling the world was finally coming true. growing up her adventures outside of texas were limited to once every couple years and even then her controlling parents put a stop to any explorations. vacations had an odd way of turning into learning experiences as popular tourist attractions were visited, especially museums or historical sites. now, having all of this new found freedom, she didn’t know exactly what to do with herself when there was time to relax in a new city. in her eyes it was a bit overwhelming to say the least. she was beginning to devise a plan of action to keep her anxiety from sky rocketing and make the most of the short visit. usually she started off by exploring around the venue to familiarize herself before the show that night, then she’d wander off to find food or maybe a local bookstore to put her studious mind at ease. from that point on her plans really depended on how much time was left over. sometimes she’d waste every minute on mindless activities, other times she’d find another person to be with. it varied on her mood or if anything exciting was going on.
today delilah wasted away most of her morning sound asleep on march of the dead’s bus where she had kindly asked to borrow an unoccupied bunk for a short nap. what was intended to be a snooze no longer than an hour quickly turned into six hours of solid, undisturbed sleep. it was expected after she spent the night before tossing and turning in her own bed for unexplained reasons other than she couldn’t sleep. once she realized sleep was unattainable delilah sat up watching all the episodes, which had missed in her absence from home, of the office. the night didn’t go to waste, but she was beyond tired in the morning and wouldn’t be able to function normally without sleep. even coffee didn’t seem like it would cure her zombie like state. thank goodness she was not needed for anything important. when the sleeping beauty finally woke it was around one thirty in the after noon, and the bus around her was completely silent. she was honestly surprised that not a single band member or piece of the crew, other than herself, were around. pushing the blankets off of her tiny frame delilah rolled over to the edge and laid there as her eyes opened and closed repeatedly. she was zoning in and out of sleep, unsure of which direction her body wanted to take.
the decision of whether to curl back up in the blankets and doze off for another couple hours or get up to face the real world was quickly interrupted by her phone vibrating under the pillow. fishing around for a moment she grabbed the cellular device to view the new text first before dealing with the call and other messages. : hey. not at all i actually just got up so starbucks sounds amazing =D i’ll be there in a few. : that was her sign that she needed to pull her sleep ridden body out of bed and get some fresh air. giving a big, loud yawn delilah climbed right from the bunk to find her shoes on the ground where she left them along with her camera and purse. slipping on each shoe she continued to multitask by running a hand through her long blond hair to release the few knots what formed while she had napped. picking up the rest of her items she was out she door without much more of a thought because currently her mind was set on one destination, starbuck with dylan. she enjoyed hanging out with him, and it was even safe to say she had this school girl crush. however, it was nothing out of the ordinary because she crushed on just about every guy that gave her enough time and were not set on getting in her pants.
her journey from the venue to starbucks was quick, and painless. she didn’t get lost, which was a great revelation considering her sense of direction was a piece of crap. getting lost was nothing new for her because it seemed as if she was lost at least once a day. she never takes the time to learn street names or even be remotely aware of her surroundings. instead she just wanders around in her own world snapping pictures here and there until she lands back on earth to find herself misplaced. entering into the busy building delilah stood right in front of the door glancing around for dylan. at first she didn’t spot him, which is why she began to adventure further inside and once she did that it became easy to find him. with a smile she walked right over to where he was standing, obviously waiting. “i brought my camera like you said.” she said with an upbeat tone as she stood close, but not invading his personal bubble. “hello by the way. ” a soft laugh escaped her rosy lips as she let her eyes travel from him, to the people around and back. “gosh where are my manners today? how has your day been going?” she was just a bit talkative.

The text in return from Delilah made him smile, he loved when she accepted his random invitations to hang out. He wasn’t one to really plan things ahead of time; that only happened on rare occasions. He was a sort of in the moment kind of guy, he always thought of things to do later on. He preferred to go where the wind took him, letting life be his guide, you know? He placed his cell back into his pocket and stood lightly on his tippy toes trying to peak over the counter to see if the barista was working on their drinks yet. He wasn’t an impatient person, he just wanted to see when his turn was. The barista grabbed their empty beverage containers and began to create their drinks; he smiled and placed his feet back on the ground looking around for any sign of Delilah. He didn’t see her, but he managed to flash a light smile to the strangers around him. That was another thing about Dylan, the kid always sported a smile upon his face, making it fairly simple for just about anyone to feel free and approach him. He was pleasant to anyone and everyone and just saw the good in people, but that was a part of his charm.
Before he knew it, he heard a familiar voice; the voice belonged to none other than Miss Delilah. He smiled at the sight of her face, ”Hey! Oh sweet, you have to start taking pictures of everywhere we go Delilah. The sun’s hitting everything just right today; I thought you could possibly get some good photos today?”
, he shrugged happily. He loved Delilah’s work, she had showed him some of her personal photography once before, she was actually really good. Some photographers were only skilled in certain aspects of photography, like only having a creative eye for when models were involved. But no, Delilah didn’t need models, such as the band she worked for. She had an eye for something deeper and more meaningful than that. ”Plus, we can take some pictures of us just hanging out? Got to keep the memory intact somehow, right?”, he smiled lightly. A t that exact moment his name was called and the barista placed both of their beverages onto the counter, Dylan smiled taking a hold of both of them as he stepped forward. ”Thanks”, he said to the barista then turned his attention back to Delilah. He lifted her beverage up with a grin, ”Got you your favorite”, he said handing it to her. The drink in his hand was simply a mocha frappucino, it was his favorite, he had always got it whenever he went to Starbuck’s since he was a child. ”Let’s sit for a bit?”, he asked as he led her to the nearest small empty table and held out a chair for her. When she took her seat, he made his way over to the chair on the opposite side and sat down. It was time for that first sip of his mocha, the best sip as he liked to call it. It always got his mouth ready for what was to come next following that one sip, Aaah, he thought happily. He placed his beverage down then looked back up at Delilah, finally being able to answer her question. ”My day’s going pretty well. Checked out the mall earlier with Casey, geeh, that girl can really shop…”, he chuckled a bit. Everyone was well aware about the stereotypes of women and shopping, guess he never really caught Casey as one of those though, he was obviously wrong. ”She’s like a child, she gets tired after all that energy is used for like an hour… but it was fun, , he shrugged lightly. ”Then I figured you wouldn’t mind exploring the rest of the city with me… plus, you can take some pictures,”, he smiled gesturing to her camera. ”How’d you start off your day? I didn’t ruin any plans right?”, he asked kindly bringing his beverage back up for another sip. » words six-eighty-nine » tagged Delilah<3 » outfit –N/A- » comments haha woo!
