Zackary didn't know what to think about his feelings for Ransom. As far as he knew, there were no other guys in the picture and the only thing he needed to worry about was how to deal with things. He was absolutely clueless about David or any other man who Ransom had something with, being as oblivious as he was. He wouldn't guess about anything like that either, those kind of things fly right over his head. David and him had been talking a lot recently about how he'd never had a kiss or girlfriend before. He knew that David wanted him to get laid more than anything, but honestly, that wasn't what Zack was looking for. He loved David like a big brother, thus the reason he didn't want to disappoint him. He figured he had to look like some big wussy, not have even kissed a girl at the age of seventeen. Just something about kissing and sex right now didn't appeal to him. Maybe it was because he hadn't even kissed a girl before, or maybe that he knew he wouldn't be able to do that.
What were his whereabouts as of now? He was actually walking down the streets of New York City, headed to the park. He had performed earlier in the day with his band, took a nap in his sister's bed, showered and changed into some clean clothes he kept on their bus. Zack wasn't very independent, he always ended up going to Radio Bye Bye's bus to hang out with his sister and be babied. Although he was getting out to get air, he didn't necessarily want to be alone while he took a breather. He didn't honestly have a lot of friends, but he did have one friend he could almost always count on. Ransom Carter. As previously stated, he was totally in love with the girl but couldn't really recognize the feeling or deal with it accordingly. He still wanted to see her, though, and he hoped if he asked her to come to the park that it wouldn't turn up awkward. He approached the park with a fast pace, his head bent back, one hand in his pocket and the other dug into his head hair messing with it. His hair was never quite in order, it was like a big mess of blonde and he liked it that way.
Zack finally entered the park and smiled to himself, it was practically empty! Don't get me wrong, this guy loves people, but he didn't like being himself in public with lots of people around. He didn't take his medication today, it would be way too embarrassing. He flipped his hair and grabbed his phone out, diverting his gaze from around him to down on the cell phone screen. There was nothing new for him to read, which wasn't too odd, considering he had but so many friends. He started texting Ransom, asking her to come meet him in park. After the message was sent he hopped up onto the park bench and slid his Blackberry into his pocket. He felt this sudden surge of energy--as if it weren't a normal occurence--and saw a park bench a few feet away. He was almost immediately challenged to jump over to it without falling. Without a moments more hesitation he leaped over the gap between the benches, just barely making it to the next one. He smiled to himself, feeling overly successful. The next reaction was to look around for another bench to jump at, little did he realize when he leaped... there was an old lady on the opposite side of the bench in aim. When he landed on the side he saw her, got wide eyes and jumped down to the ground. Unfortunately for him, it was a psychopath kind of oldie.
She just went ahead and hit him with her old woman purse, and damn, it felt like there was a brick or five in there. Whilst he held his arm she was starting to murmur, "be careful young one!" And another hit with the purse. He started walking away before she could finish her sentence and hit him a third time, that couldn't be legal could it? No, but she was an old lady and he was a trouble making teenager... the odds weren't on his side. Luckily for him the swingset was far enough that he could swing happily, distracted after a few moments of just waiting for Ransom and singing to himself. he wasn't sure of the song, but he had heard the song on the radio several times."I'm the kind of guy that ain't easy to forget.."

ransom had been sleeping for a good nineteen hours, and all because of this one person. one man. god, how could she have been so stupid? she knew the answer to that one herself, but there was no way she would be answering it. she, amongst many other people, knew that she wasn't the brightest bulb in the package. she rarely made good decisions, and when she did make good decisions, she followed up with bad decisions. tossing and turning in her sleep, she barely realized any of these things, a nightmare creeping over her body. she had never been this scared before in her life, these night scares being the reason behind her normal inability to sleep well at night. now, not only was her father sneaking his way into her unconscious mind, but the biggest mistake of her life was haunting her. she needed a savior, everything was crashing down around her and like an angel from heaven, her own best friend appeared. this was probably the first time she'd ever seen anyone besides her dad in her nightmares. zack stood there, zackary aaron rune, one of the only people that she could get to accept her for everything she was entirely. he was the person she went to when she needed to talk, and he was always happy to see her. sure, he was a little crazy.. a little hyper, but that just meant they were one and the same. the two together drove people past their comfort levels, the stupidity, innocence and immaturity that bubbled around them was like the aroma of apples and cinnamon when you pulled a fresh baked apple pie out of the oven, and she loved it that way. in short, she loved being around him in general.
as her phone started blasting loud music, ransom jolted upright, blinking her eyes open. her heart was racing, what in the world was that? rubbing her eyes with the back of her hand, she gave a wide yawn. "i wonder who's texting me?" her voice came out as a scratchy whisper, picking up her phone. a smile pulled at her lips, seeing that it was from zack. speak of the devil, almost. he was more of an angel than a devil. he made her happier and such, even when she felt as crappy as she did now. quickly, she shot him a text back. "haha, okay (: i made some cookies yesterday.. you want somee?" as she pressed send, she kicked the blankets off of her legs, running a hand through her hair. ransom rolled her eyes as she slid out of her bed. quietly, the brunette walked over to the small closet like thing, looking through her clothes. she had taken a shower the night before, so she didn't need one this morning. her eyes skimmed over the clothes and though she hated it, she pulled out a pair of her sisters leggings and laid them on the bed, grabbing a hoodie as well. she bit her lip and nodded to herself. she practically ripped her own clothes off, putting on the new panties and sweater, biting her lip. ransom never even really contemplated pants, she just left them alone.. but today, she wanted them. people had come to realize that when she was wearing pants, there was obviously something wrong. she didn't care if people thought there was something wrong, though, because there was something terribly wrong, and she was more than upset. she pulled the leggings up her legs, scratching at where they sat on her upper thighs. they weren't really leggings, but leg warmers, so they didn't have feet or a waist. it made no difference to her.
she popped into the bathroom, making sure she brushed her hair to the point where it looked semi-decent, putting a thin layer of makeup on as her phone started going off again. her smile grew as she read his text. "yes yes yes! NOM NOM NOM" she closed her phone before exiting the bus with her sparkly shoes and a small bag of cookies. thankfully, ransom's smile was semi real. she was happy that she was going to go see zack, he was probably the only person who could cheer her up right now. she gave a few random band people smiles and waves before leaving the grounds. it was nice to be outside; a little colder, but nice. she would be enjoying the sunshine, the heat beating down on her covered shoulders. everything was so nice out here, the sun reflecting off the green of the grass and the brown of the now bare trees and shrubs. she saw the stray puppies as they scurried around the streets. the guitarist quietly started skipping, finding the backway to the park, sliding in to the woody area, walking through the dirt trail. she felt the mosquitos attacking her body, and the flies zipping around her head, the birds chirping over her, seeing the opening about five feet ahead of her. she ran a hand through her bangs as she exited the trail, seeing the open, grassy area. taking another glance around, she noticed a small play ground and zack on one of the swings. his goofy little grin and misplaced blond hair was enough of a sight to send her sprinting, slowing as she reached the swing he was on. she practically attacked him, climbing up ontop of his lap slowly, her legs resting on either side of him, touching his waist and the metal of the swing handles
she wrapped him in a tight hug, her small arms wrapped far enough around him. leaning back a bit, she pulled out the bag of cookies. there was one for her and two for him. "i missed you." she said with a gentle smile. she took out one of the cookies, holding out the bag with the other two to him with another grin. "thanks for inviting me." her voice was quiet as one of her hands reached down to itch the leggings that hugged her legs tightly. it was really odd to her, and they sort of itched, but for once, she felt more comfortable with them on than with nothing on her legs at all. maybe it was because it made her feel like a bit less of a whore, or maybe it was something of a security blanket, either way, she was partially glad she wore them.

Have you ever wished that you were five years of age again? Zack did and there was nothing he wished more for. Sure, when you talk to him you can tell that he doesn't really act his age--maybe eight years under it at most--but under his childish, hyperactive behavior there was one of the most confused teenagers there could ever be. This may be an over-exaggeration but if there was any word to describe how he felt inside it would definitely be confusion. Zack was at most confusion with two specific topics; one, girls and two, how people saw him. Basically, he felt like the preteen he should have felt like five years ago but he had still been playing power rangers at that time. (Not that he, didn't still do that...) As he swung back and forth he would look at the smaller parts of the setting around him such as the flowers and the flying insects, trying to avoid looking at his cell phone screen. He always felt as if he was a bit too impatient when it came to getting text replies from Ransom and he felt a bit pathetic just staring at the start menu of his iPhone. Usually with every other person he talked to he would just text and wait for it to vibrate pretty patiently, but no, he had to be staring at the screen in order for a text from Ransom to come. When his text tone went off he didn't even let the sound finish itself, his finger touching the inbox button interuppted the Tik Tok song by Ke$ha.
He stopped swinging for the moment in order to text straight, he was incapable of swinging back and forth and focusing on his phones screen. Just her texting him back made the happiness arise in his system, can you imagine how he must have felt when she agreed and offered to bring him cookies that she made? Normally, Zack didn't trust people to cook his food-- his reasoning usually ended up being something about them trying to posion him or being apart of the FBI -- but Ransom's cooking was one, trustworthy and two, the most delicious food he ever could imagine being real. He could already taste the sensation of melting chocolate in his mouth, the crunchiness between his teeth, and the flavoring stuck to his tongue until he drank something later. He texted back almost immediately, his text reading exactly what his thoughts were. "yes yes yes! NOM NOM NOM" He hit the send button and shoved the phone in his pocket, not expecting another text and now being less tense about it. Ransom was probably on her way or getting ready, so there was nothing to worry about right?
Self entertainment was something he was glad to obtain as easily as he always did, just watching a butterfly swoosh and swirl across the sky was enough to last him a few minutes. He heard the sound of feet running on grass to the side to him and looked in the direction it was coming from, smiling when he saw the source. There came Ransom, as beautiful as ever, running straight towards him... it was like his dreams almost, just without the dancing flowers and romantic music that came along with those dreams he had ever so often. Every time they got together he started to inch towards realization of how he felt about her and when she came into his sight he felt a little more sure that he really did like her. He and David had talked about this before, him not being quite aware that Ransom and David had done 'the nasty'--as he calls it--together, and he had some advice on how to deal with it... to kiss her. He knew that wasn't exactly the advice, but damn, that was as far as he'd go. Zack hadn't even kissed a girl before and as far as he knew, Ransom probably hadn't kissed a guy before either. He didn't know if he'd make a move or not, it all would just have to play out by itself.
He smiled at her and nodded, his hugging back was meant to be his welcoming. Zack laughed softly, feeling somewhat comfortable in the position they were in. Sure, it made him a tad nervous, but maybe it felt comfortable because it was how it was supposed to be? He honestly to god had no idea, but when he looked down and saw Ransom with pants on, he didn't know what to think. Of course, he had just been swallowing his second cookie when he noticed and when he looked up at her he still had crumbs around his mouth. He thought about it, why would Ransom wear pants? Something was wrong and she was upset, that much was obvious. He thought about everything his 'older brother' told him and decided to grow some balls with a simple action. What David said about kissing girls when they were upset better be true, because the next thing he knew, he had just kissed Ransom and they were pulled apart, staring at each other. He could feel the redness in his face, should he not have done that? To back it up, or maybe even divert the attention to a different subject he said, "Um.. what's up with the pants...? Are you... are you o-okay...?"

ransom didn't want to feel her hear break right now, even after david, it wasn't even cracked. she hadn't really had feelings for david, honestly. he moved too fast for her, and wanted all the wrong things. sure, it hurt and she had cried, but that was because he had been mean about it all. if he had just stayed five minutes, she probably wouldn't have even said anything or told anyone. in fact, she probably would've bottled all of this up inside of herself. nobody would've known, but instead, she had spilled all of her guts to her brother. he knew everything, now, even about their dad; every thought that had crossed her mind. the tears that had poured out of her eyes two nights before. her body ached, and she was emotionally as well as physically drained, but she felt comfortable right now, like this was where she belonged. zack's arms were wrapped around her, just to keep her from falling or something, and her legs were crossed behind his back, holding them closer. she liked zack, a lot. her mind wandered to him a lot over the past few days. what was he going to think of her? was she going to turn into some whore in his mind? that's what she felt like. she had been used, and on top of that, it had hurt! and being the person she was, it had been exaggerated in her mind. honestly, anything that made you bleed was painful. and she had bled. not a lot, but enough for her to over react.
she watched as he chewed slowly. he was thinking. about what? she wasn't sure. he was just finishing his second cooking and she was somewhere near halfway with her one. her face was soft and she glanced at him. he was so cute and innocent, she felt like a supre whore just being around him. after the whole david thing, she really was realizing how much she did like zack. she could've spent forever right there with him. sure, he was friends with david, but they couldn't be any more different. zack was childish and sweet. he had depth that he didn't even realize he had. he was perfect in every way, shape, and form. honestly, she cared for him more than she cared for anyone. he made her feel special, and like she was needed, and she liked that feeling. quietly, ransom watched him. even if they were suspended up in the air, she felt safe. then again, she always felt safe around zack. he had to have been her best friend. they had been close since they had met. it was a little crazy, but she didn't care. he was a little crazy, and so was she. that's why they had gotten along so well. whatever the case, it was nice to just be around someone that truly cared about her. he stopped chewing and swallowed, his same thinking face on. before she even really knew what was happening, his lips were against her. she reacted the only way she knew how. silently, her eyes fluttered closed and she kissed him back. sure, it didn't last that long, but she could feel any doubt she had in her heart and mind leave her.
if this was love, she wanted to stay in this moment forever. her heart was racing, she just wanted to freeze this frame, but she was pulling away before she could even stop herself. he had decided to pull away at the same time. ransom could feel her heart fluttering in her chest. what was happening to her? she wanted to scream with happiness, but she didn't. she didn't want to scare zack, and she definitely didn't want him to think he had done anything wrong, because that was far from the case. ransom was barely aware of what was happening. she wanted to close her eyes and sleep. she didn't know what was going on. honestly, she wanted to just sit there with him until the day she died, but she know that it would never happen. her eyes scanned over his face, was he just fucking with her? trying to use her to? as soon as the thought entered her mind she felt horrible. she knew that zack was an honest to god great person. he wasn't like the other guys she had met and been around. he wouldn't hurt her.. or at least, she hoped he wouldn't. she bit her lip as he asked about her choice of attire and sighed. "i've been having a bad week." she said softly, hugging him tightly. "but i feel a lot better now." the whisper left her lips and she moved away from his cheek, giving him a tiny kiss before laying her head on his shoulder.
his body heat was the only thing really keeping her warm at all. her eyes closed slowly due to exhaustion, emotionally and physically. she hoped that this wasn't just another person using her. her mind wandered to thoughts about him finding out, a shudder moving through her spine. ransom was pretty positive she wouldn't be able to handle that. not again. not by zack. it would most likely be the reason behind her losing any hope she had left. through the thoughts and the questions that tortured her mind, she managed to drift to sleep, a few ransom yawns escaping her lips. for the first time, her sleep was peaceful. she wasn't screaming, nor was she crying. soft, quiet snores were heard, most likely only by him. she was happier than she'd been in a long while, and even in her sleep she hoped it would stay that way.

Zack couldn’t help but feel about as crazy as everyone told him he was—despite that she had kissed him back—and he didn’t know what he’d do next. The redness in his face didn’t die down in the least, in fact, it probably went full-on blush like. He could feel his hands grow clammy, which he thought was nasty but a part of being nervous, and rested them on his jeans behind Ransom. His arms were just draped around her lower sides, and for some reason he was able to keep them there without being uncomfortable. It felt, right, just a little weird. Ransom didn’t make it weird, she was the part that it was right… it was just the fact that Zack was so inexperienced in this region that he wasn’t used to being so close to a girl. Not just a girl either, the perfect girl—someone who understood him, who didn’t laugh at him, who didn’t make him feel worthless, and most of all… someone his age and all of this. At the very least, she was his ultimate best friend, if he hadn’t messed that up anyway.
He was exploding on the inside with every thought you could think of in a situation such as one like this. Did he just completely ruin their friendship? What was her reaction going to be? He had an extreme look of worry in his eyes while catching her gaze, not finding any sort of reaction when he looked into hers. He gulped and watched her anxiously, he could only hope for the best reaction. So far, she wasn’t screaming, hitting, or even trying to get away from him. That was good check. He was still nervous though, she could just be scared to move… what if she thought he was just messing with her? He loved David like a brother but he always saw, or heard, of him using girls and just doing what he wanted with them. He wasn’t aware of what had happened between him and Ransom, no, he was just worried that she might think he was trying to do what David did with girls. She wouldn’t think that though, right? After all, he liked her so much because she understood him… and if she understood him, she’d know he’d never do that… right? Never had he dealt with girls in the romance department, but nor had he mistreated them in anyway. It was against his nature. Now he, he had been mistreated a few times in the days of school by girls before he started home-schooling. He never did return the favor to them though, having been such a ‘sweetheart’ at the time.
It was only seconds that seemed like an eternity to Zack before he was hugging her with his protective arms and listening to her response. He rested his chin on her shoulder until he felt her pull back, and then before he knew it their lips touched again for the briefest second. He didn’t say a word when she pulled back and laid her head on his shoulder, he just held her and almost went thoughtless while doing so. He swung back and forth very gently and not high at all, recognizing a sound of a quite snore after just a few minutes. Figuring in this sort of weather that it would be unhealthy to sleep out there—even with his body heat—he should probably drop her off at her bus. He was extremely careful not to wake her while getting a better grip on her so that he could carry her back to the buses, which wasn’t hard, Ransom was a tiny girl and therefore not very heavy. Plus, Zack worked out, he could carry a lot more than you would think he could. "Night night.."
[/color] He whispered to the sleeping Ransom, He made it very safely to the parking lot and hurried it up, it was cold out and he’d just feel better when she was safely inside. When he got onto the COD bus he looked around, seeing just a few people present. He explained to Khaos, her brother, what had happened but obviously left out some details so he didn’t get punched and all. From there he was directed to Ransoms bunk and laid her down, he was on the way out but Kelly (Khaos) caught him again in conversation. It didn’t last long and soon enough Zack was gone, headed to his own bus for the night.
