"This is Annabel Clarisse Murphy, but she normally only goes by Anna. It just kind of picked up from a young age, but go ahead and call her anything else you'd like, she wouldn't mind. She was born on April 3rd, and is currently 22 years old. She somehow landed herself the job of being the manager of Radio Bye Bye, which she loves. She doesn't run them too hard, and is normally very relaxed, but still keeps everything in line, and she's good at what she does.
APPEARANCE:
In general, Anna's a tiny girl. She stands proudly at the height of 5'3", and weighs a measly 105 pounds. She has the figure, the one that every boy desires. Her features are delicate, her nose turned upwards, which gives her somewhat of an elfish look. Her facial features are all generally in proportion, and she's often called beautiful. Anna’s eyes are always showing her feelings, and she can’t mask them well. Her eyes are a slate gray, and they lighten or darken depending on the weather and her mood. The irises are outlined in a darker gray, with almost sparkle-like flicks and specks intermixed. They’re surrounded by thick lashes, and are a general shape, but slightly thinner than the normal eye. This flaw isn’t distracting be any means, and it isn’t even really a flaw. It fits her other features to perfection. Anna’s hair is currently longer. She’s tried out shorter hair and really loved it, but decided to grow it out. It’s dark in color, a rich deep chocolate brown, and all natural. The soft curls cascade down her back, to about the middle of her shoulder blades. She often straightens it, especially when she wears it up. She had bangs that surround her face. Anna has always loved to look her best. Maybe it stems from her mothers’ taste and what she wanted Anna to dress like, or just her interest in style and clothing. She dresses with the trends, with her own little twist. She loves keys and the Eiffel Tower on necklaces, and adores anchors at the moment. She wears lots of dresses, tunics, skinny jeans and leggings, often paired with heels. Anna normally sticks with designer and more expensive brands, but doesn’t look down on those who don’t. She loved knit hats, scarves, North Face fleeces, sweaters and Uggs when the air grows chill – but for the warmer weather, her style changes slightly. It’s more dresses and skirts paired with a fashionable tee or blouse. She loves her look.
PERSONALITY:
Moody; Anna’s moods change often. It’s normally on her bad days, those days that she feels like she doesn’t deserve to live because she had aborted her child. Even on good days, she’ll be moody just not as harsh and drastic.
Sensitive; Annabel is simply sensitive. She takes comments to heart, and often believes what she is told, good or bad. It comes with the moodiness as her sensitivity is often the cause of the mood change. She cries easily, but still tries to be strong.
Bubbly; Anna is almost always in a good mood, and happy to see you. She’s energetic, and gets your spirits up. She’ll normally greet you with a grin and a tight hug. Her eyes light up in excitement often, and she’s just a happy girl. Well, most of the time that is.
Fun; Anna tends to keep a fun and entertaining presence around her. She always loves to try new things to keep the party going, and will often give up suggestions for a good time.
Caring; Anna is one of those people who can’t help but want to do what they can for someone else. Make the other person feel better, make the rest of the world happy. She helps people out of tough situations and normally always gives good advice.
Argumentative; Anna will argue a point to no end. She loves drama, to an extent, and often wants to argue with someone because she’s bored. Even if she doesn’t really believe what she’s arguing about, she’ll be defiant and continue on just so she can win.
Bitchy; On those off days, Anna can be a complete bitch. Even on the good days, really. It’s not something that she hates about herself, and it’s another one of those things that doesn’t show its head very often. She insults directly, even if she says that she’s kidding, it will normally hurt anyways.
Manipulative; Anna loves to get her way. Who doesn’t, really? But it’s a talent of hers. She can get almost anyone to do anything and everything for her with the proper smile and wording choice.
Slow; Sometimes Anna doesn’t process things as quickly as others. She can be confused at times; in the middle of a conversation she won’t get something and won’t hesitate to ask for clarification.
Hidden Intelligence; Anna may seem like an idiot due to her being slower and confused on occasion, but she really is smart. She gets good grades, and working her way out of situations always requires good planning. Proper insults and comebacks take thought too, so she obviously isn’t an idiot.
Sarcastic; Anna likes to be sarcastic. It isn’t really too common for her, but it happens. The comments are normally driven from some remark someone makes or just because she wants to.
Committed; Anna loves being in a relationship, as odd as it seems. She likes the idea of belonging to someone, belonging someplace, and once she’s there she won’t cheat. She may flirt, but that’s just who she is.
Flirty; Anna’s always liked boys a lot. A lot, a lot. More than she should, probably. She always flirts with them, seeing how they react to her and just being playful. It’s a part of her, and it’s probably not going away anytime soon.
Secret Keeper; If you tell Anna your secrets, which you undoubtedly will, she won’t tell anyone. She may take a few actions into her own hands, or push you in the right direction and tell you what you need to do to get out of whatever mess, but she won’t tell anyone you don’t want her to.
Confident; Anna knows how she looks. She’s definitely not ugly, and not just pretty either. She’s had people tell her how beautiful she is, being a model for most of her lifetime. She’ll play off of her looks, and she knows how to accentuate her prize winning features and how to mask those she doesn’t like too much. Even on her bad days when she feels as if she’s the worst person in the world, she’s still confident in her looks.
Dirty Minded; Anna’s mind is in the gutter, simple as that. No description necessary.
Independent; Anna has practically raised herself, and had made her own decisions. She liked it that way. She doesn’t like depending on people for things, but will if she must.
Prideful; This goes along with the independence. She doesn’t like accepting help, as she often feels like it’s a sign of weakness. She can do it herself. Unless she gets stuck and wants help, of course.
Sense of Humor; Anna loves to laugh, and she’ll laugh at a lot of things. She’s pretty carefree and light, and often makes people laugh. She loves it.
Backbone; Anna will stick up for herself and others. She doesn’t like people bullying others, and will normally get in the way of that. She’ll back her friends up in an argument.
Procrastinator; Anna likes having things done, yes. But she can never seem to get started early. She hates this trait of hers, but oh well. She’s learned to live with it.
Paranoid; She assumes this is because of what had happened, but she's always worrying about someone slipping her some drugs in her food or in a drink, and she just thinks of the most wild of possibilities. Anna is easily put on edge, and it isn't something that she likes about herself.
Outgoing; Anna’s always been out there, loving for the world to see her. Well, her minus her secrets. She’ll go up to people on the streets and make conversation with them, but it’s just a normal thing for her.
Persistent; When Anna has something in her line of sight that she wants, she’s determined to get it. No matter what. So, get used to it. Be prepared to be manipulated and annoyed till giving in.
HISTORY:
------------- --------- the parents’ tale; ------------
Elliot Murphy, at the age of twenty three, visited France for a vacation with a few close friends. It was a “Bachelor Party” made into a last vacation before family life. Madeleina, fresh faced and eager to face the world on her own at the age of eighteen had grown up there – it was home. The two met in a local bar, and went back to her apartment. He ended up taking her back to America with him, before either even knew that Anna had been conceived. The pair were in love – and there was no doubting that fact. Elliot was laying down the plans for his own law firm, having just a few months until graduating law school early. Madeleina always had her hand at fashion and started her own line when they first arrived back in New York. Then, she learned that she was pregnant. Elliot, being the honest man he is, asked her to marry him and the rest was history. Well, except for the point where they were planning on aborting the pregnancy – but Madeleina backed out last minute, not wanting it to get out into their new place in society and affect their reputation. So, on April 3rd, 1990, Annabel Clarisse Murphy was born, whether Elliot and Madeleina were ready and wanting or no.
------------- --------- the early years; ------------
Annabel was taken care of by a nanny most of the time – and she was nice enough. But a nanny couldn’t provide the kind of love that Anna desired as a young girl. She hardly saw Elliot and Madeleina, but their marriage was still going strong. Anna was told whenever she asked where the pair were that they were “busy working” and “would see her later”. She accepted it, not knowing what else she could do. Her five year old brain couldn’t comprehend the idea that her biological parents weren’t large fixtures in her life. Her nanny was enough for her, but when that’s all you’ve known for your entire life, wouldn’t you believe it was too? Anna was always falling and tripping, and had many scars in proof of the incidents. She often played alone in her large room, or one of her mother’s friend’s daughters and their nanny came over to keep her company. Anna was given all that she wanted, even things she didn’t. It came with the wealth and high society of her family name. The Murphy’s. One of the best lawyers in the country, matched with the famous designer of the LeBlanc name, and the most adorable and well-mannered young girl the city had seen in years. The perfect picture, and that’s all they were. Anna only saw her parents for the parties and the family portraits. The public life. Her mother started putting her into fashion shoots, now becoming mom-ager extraordinaire. It’s what Anna grew up with, private schools, model shoots, and high fashion in a fast paced city.
------------- --------- high school; ------------
At the age of ten, Anna’s nanny wasn’t needed anymore so she was, much to Anna’s dismay and protesting, then let go. “She wasn’t a necessity when you can stay home by yourself,” her mother had explained, sounding very flippant, short, and slightly annoyed. “Plus, you’ll be so busy with shoots and fittings, your friends, and school you won’t even notice her missing!” Not notice? Anna found it doubtful, but knew that arguing was no use. And she did miss her nanny much. Her nanny had always helped her with her homework, and friend issues, and if she needed someone to talk to about the life of a young model. Her dreams, deep thoughts, all of her desires were now unheard. But, Anna being her, got over it. Her mother wouldn’t listen to her, she knew. Anna wasn’t close enough with any friends, even if she was considered the ‘most popular’. Not that it mattered to Anna – all it was were bonfires, stupid jokes, cocky boys who were just starting to make those dirty references and bitchy girls that were always down each others’ throats. So, Anna grew up. She dealt with these friends of hers, got all A’s, was the perfect student. She kept modeling vigorously, and at thirteen she started walking the catwalk for the junior’s line of some big brand. Her mother kept her in the modeling business, setting her up for shoots and commercials. That was all her mother did, though, and she still never saw Elliot. He was always either in his home office working, out with clients, at the office, or out of town.
When Anna reached fourteen, the summer before she started high school, things changed for her. She was sick of her classmates’ immature antics, so she set out for new friends. She became closer with other models in the area, majority of them older then she, and they all turned to be tighter then Anna could believe. She was now in an entertaining group of “Populars”, all of them rich and gorgeous, outgoing and ready for a good time. She entered the parties flawlessly, and fit right it with the scene. The drinking made her feel alive and like she fit it, and all of her friends were doing it, so she felt it was right. And it was, really. She fit in there – she was older and more mature then her classmates as is, so it just made sense for her to do these kinds of things before any of them. Therefore, practically every night of the summer she spent in a club, obviously snuck by without ID, or in someone’s house drinking away her troubles. She was taken with open arms; grinding up against guys like the pros, taking back shots like the seniors, and having a different hookup almost every night.
When Anna entered high school, she was vastly different. She practically just hung out with the older students, and her name was well known. Everyone knew who she was, and everyone either loved her or was too jealous to see past it. For Homecoming she was the Freshman Representative, and had gone with friends. Mr. Davis was in the same grade as her, and he apparently had his eye on her. The pair spent most of the dance together, and went to the same after party. By the end of the night, they were known as a couple to the student body. She liked him a lot, sure, and he was fun to be around. He liked the same things she did, and Anna thought he was extremely hot. After just a month of dating, they had sex. He kept her in the party scene, and kept that part of her that lusted after him extremely satisfied, no matter how weird that seems. They had so much “Interesting Experiences” to last a lifetime, and then some. If anyone had heard her stories they would probably call her a slut, because yeah, it sounded really bad. Anna was content with him, and couldn’t see a single reason for them to break up. Everyone loved the two together, anyhow.
It was the end of the summer that Anna then decided that she wanted out of New York and that life. Her parents were becoming too distant for her liking, and she felt like too much was the same as always. She needed change, so she asked her parents if she could go to a boarding school for her junior and senior year. They had declined the idea, leaving her without choice but to stay in New York until she graduated. She broke it off with her boyfriend, as he was cheating on her anyways, plus he tended to get just a little too physical when he got mad, which was often. Anna partied hard her last two years of high school, hooking up way too many times, being drunk practically all the time. It was the only way that she could deal with her parents, her life.
Over Spring Break in her senior year of high school, something had happened. The night had started out normal enough. Enter venue of party with friends, take a drink, and another, dance with Davis, drink, have fun, drink, chill out, and stay the night and wait for the hangover the next day. Press repeat. But this night was different – after dancing a little bit, she had taken a drink from some guy, Anna couldn’t remember who, and little did she know it contained GHB. Her hookup ended up being hazy, but she clearly remembered struggling to get away and saying “Stop,” before passing out. Her attempts were futile, and she wasn’t completely sure of what had happened. But thanks to the flashbacks in her nightmares, she had enough of the scene to figure it out, plus the soreness and bruising along her body. Her assumptions were only proven correct when she found out she was pregnant. Anna didn’t know what to do. She didn’t know who the father could be, couldn’t remember the face and never caught the name. Her friends couldn’t recall either, only that he had been some graduates friend from college. She was only eighteen, and would have no clue how to raise a child, wasn't ready for it. How would her mother react? Horribly, that’s how. Her life wouldn’t be as it is. No one knew that she was raped or that she was pregnant and really didn’t want them to figure out either of those minor details. So, she got an abortion. It seemed like the best option, the ONLY option. Anna feels horrible about it, and often wonders what life would be like if she hadn’t aborted the child.
After this, Anna started partying even more, if that were possible. She became numb, a complete bitch to everyone. She was heartless, cold. Numb, nothing. She was the definition of "Cold Hard Bitch". Graduation didn't change this - she continued to be this way until she got her new life, her new beginning. Moving her ass all the way to Las Vegas, it was the perfect opportunity. No one knew her. She could start over. Which was exactly what Anna did.
------------- --------- the college life; ------------
Starting out freshman year, Anna's self-changes were immediate. Long gone was the ultra bitch, and she did not want to be like that again. It was cold, lonely in a sense, even with so many people envying her for whatever reasons. Loving her, loathing her, lusting after her. She previously thought that she could, and SHOULD, keep them all at bay, considering she had killed someone. In her eyes, she had killed her child. She was a mother of a dead child, and the death was at her hand. Becoming more selfish, Anna opened up to anyone that would have her, even some people who wouldn't. It was just who she was now. She was energetic, lively, right. Anna now held an air of positivity, and enjoyed being around people, helping them when they need it. She was now realizing who she had been in high school, and she didn't want to be like that ever again. So Anna had promised herself that she would never be like that again - this was a new life, a new Anna. She had taken a gun and shot the bullet at her old self, then took the shattered pieces and rebuilt herself, differently. The pieces fit together now, better than they did before. This was her, and it wasn't changing. No one in Seattle would know her old self. It was perfect. She could now easily hide her past, even if the pain was so intense that it knocked her off of her feet sometimes, made it impossible to get out of bed in the mornings. Her plan was to not tell anyone about who she used to be, and definitely not that she was raped, or that she had been pregnant and then aborted it. No one needed to know it, as it wasn't relevant in her eyes anymore. Not when that person was long gone, not replaced with this new girl.
Even if the bitch often comes out to play, bringing the cold exterior and insults on those 'bad days' that she so often has.
Over Christmas break of her freshman year, her parents announced two things. One being that her mother was pregnant, the other being that they were moving to Seattle to be closer to Anna. This was a huge surprise, being that both of them have never seemed to show interest in her, but she went with it. Anna was doubtful of their motives, but she would honestly rather have them around then not at this point. In high school, she couldn't wait to get away, and didn't really care that she wasn't close or at all relatively friendly with her parents. But now, she had matured. She wanted them around, wanted to be close with them. Closer to them, at least. Ever since, they had been working hard on trying to rebuild their relationship, and then Katherine May was born over the summer, on July 12th. Her mother then went back to work, and Anna took over the babysitting job. She didn't mind it one bit, since the age difference somehow made up for her aborting the pregnancy, taking care of her little sister as a mother would. Anna loved her like she were her daughter, rather than her little sister. She refused to let her parents do the same thing to little Katherine that they had done to her, so she had to. In here eyes, it was a must. It had to happen. She had to take care of her sister, even if it were just for the fact that Anna wanted Katherine to grow up right, grow up knowing that she was loved and cared for. Sure, her parents were doing better - they were around, they were at least acting like they care. In a way, Katherine was helping Anna heal, helping Anna get over what she had done. Sometimes it made her feel worse, like she shouldn't be trying to replace that part of her heart just to ease her personal pain. But others... Others it was so much better than it had been. It wasn't like Anna could help it. So she kept going like she was, taking care of her sister, spending as much time as possible around her. Whether that meant hanging around at home, or taking Katherine with her, she didn't care. And no one else seemed to care either, considering Katherine was just about the best baby in the world. She didn't cry much, she was very calm, subdued, quiet. She really wasn't a bother for anyone, just a presence. At one point, it was like she was another part of Anna.
This continued on for the next few months. Her parents wanted to spend more time with their new daughter, and each took time off of work to just be home. But Anna and her parents had gotten into a fight about one thing or another, a big one. Her parents went back to who they had been when she was growing up, at least for the length of the fight. They then told her that she couldn't be around as much, they wanted to spend time with Katherine, and Katherine alone. So Anna distanced herself, with the fact in mind that she had to see Katherine as much as she could, Katherine had to grow up well, grow up loved, grow up happy. And Anna really didn't think that her parents could provide that. Once her parents went back to work, she still wasn't speaking with them, but she came over and took Katherine for the day whenever she could, which was now just about twice a week. College continued on like this, and she became the manager of radio bye bye, and is now graduated. :]"
hey, so i'm court. i've been roleplaying for a few months now. as well as this character, i also play no one else. you can reach me by pm, aim, msn, or email if you need me for anything. i found made up stories by allie and i'm pretty glad i did. here's an example of mah skillz. (:With two destinations in mind, Anna was out on the road in mere minutes of ending her chat with Benny. With Benny sick, and her inability to make anything other than cereal, salads, and Easy Mac, Anna had said that she would pick up Subway for the two of them. It was a common event, really. All day long she had the desire to watch movies, so herself and Benny made up a list of a few movies for her to buy, hence a trip to Target was in order. Knowing Anna, she would pick up a few more that were not on the list, but that wasn't necessarily a problem of any sorts.
Speeding along, Anna cursed herself for throwing on a pair of heels that she had laying next to the door. She despised wearing heels while driving, but she somehow manages the task well enough. Miraculously, considering it proved to be difficult at times. Like accelerating and braking. But wearing heels just about every single day of your life made you used to them, and doing everything in them came a lot easier. Hell, running in heels is something that Anna had mastered last year. That takes talent, just ask anyone from the female population.
Turning up the radio, Do You Remember came pumping out of the speakers. Belting out the lyrics, Anna pulled into the Subway parking lot, stalling the car and cutting the engine before hopping out. Seeing a clear line and empty building, Anna walked right up and ordered. Walking out, just shy of eleven dollars poorer, with the Subway bag in hand, Anna was back on the road in a few moments. The local Target was on her way back to campus, and after singing along to Elevate The Dance floor, followed by Meet Me Halfway, Anna was pulling her little Audi into the nearest parking spot of Target. Keeping in mind that she had sandwiches in the car, and a sickly Benny was waiting for her back at his dorm, Anna was determined to not be sidetracked by the wonders of Target's designers.
Attempting to focus, Anna's hands gripped on the steering wheel. Closing her eyes and taking in a deep breath, she felt like she was ready for the battle awaiting her, the battle between her shopping addiction and her self discipline. Walking into the entrance, she beelined for the Electronics section. No cart, no basket. Both were just a disaster waiting to happen whenever Anna was involved. Grabbing the six movies that were on her list - Up, New Moon, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, The Blind Side, Sherlock Holmes, and Taking of Pelham 1, 2, 3. Noticing the shoes section being the next section over, Anna paused in the middle of the walkway. Biting on her lip, she figured that looking at shoes never hurt anyone... And she turned around, leaving the movies at the desk for her to return to after she was done looking. Looking at shoes turned into trying them on, and having a pair held at the register with her movies. And with the clothes being right there, then the purses and accessories right next to that... Anna was easily sidetracked. She was now certain that she had absolutely no will power whatsoever, as she was walking back to her car a half an hour later, with four bags in her hands.
So much for not being sidetracked by the wonders of Target's designers.
Finally arriving at the dorms, Anna made her way to Benny's dorm, without even bothering to drop her new purchases off at her dorm. She was later than she had wanted, it being 46 minutes since she had left the dorms. Knocking on the door, she was unable to open it, having her hands full. Benny would just have to get off of his sick ass and answer the door. Or send his brother up to answer it, if he was home.
